It's very likely that a steam-powered tractor was used to power this threshing machine, but when it came time to return it to the barn an eight-horse team did the job. Detail view 1 shows a close-up of one pair of horses and their gear.

Detail view 2 reveals two of the workers riding on top of the threshing machine. The photographer is listed on the original print as Harold Brown, of Gwendolen, Oregon. Gwendolen was located about seven miles north of Condon, the county seat of Gilliam County.
