Details
The Azalea Hotel was built in 1912, and was first known as the Canyon Pass Hotel. The building still exists, and now houses the Azalea General Store and the Cow Creek Cafe.
Azalea itself is currently a small unincorporated community just off Interstate 5 about 10 miles northeast of Glendale. Note the wonderful scenes in detail views 1 and 2. At the time this photo was taken the Hotel was located on the main north-south road, and was a welcome site for travelers along the historic highway.
