The joys of a wintertime ride to Mount Hood, as well as the details of a classic 1913 Packard, are well conveyed by this well-made photo by an unknown photographer. The car is almost certainly a Model 38, introduced in December 1912 and powered by a new, smaller(!) six cylinder engine displacing 415 cubic inches. The Runabout model utilized the shorter 115 inch chassis. Detail view 2 shows us one of the secrets for staying warm for this adventure - a bearskin or other type of fur throw used by the passenger in the car. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
