This 1890s Portland broom factory was located at 213 North 12th Street, in the old numbering system, according to an 1893 directory listing. That works out to somewhere near NW 12th Avenue and Kearney in the new system. All the buildings in that area are now fairly new.
To the left of the broom factory looks like a ladder factory. Note in the front row in detail view 1 the very young age of the workers who probably spent all day tying broom straw by hand.
