A companion photo to Davidson's "Blockhouse at Upper Cascades", this view looks down the Columbia from the blockhouse located on a small hill. See Related Items below for the other photo. Built in the 1850s, the blockhouse was used only for a few years, but stood for decades afterwards, and was well-known by most people in the Northwest. Note the remains of a trestle in detail view 1.
