This hand-tinted view of the USS Oregon during the Rose Festival can be dated by the piers of the unfinished Broadway Bridge in the background. Detail view 1 reveals the throngs of tourists who have boated out to the battleship to take a tour.
By 1912 the Oregon had been removed from active duty and then recommissioned, and had been outfitted with a "cage" mainmast which had become a standard battleship feature at the time.
