Details
Taken during Edward Partridge's 1887 trip to Alaska, this view demonstrates his affection for and control of abstract shapes.
Less literal than his brother William, Edward was definitely ahead of his time in terms of the composition of his photos.
Unfortunately his career was cut short when he died of kidney failure, four years after he created this powerful image.
