This woman in turn-of-the-century athletic garb appears to be ready for a pistol shooting competition.
This studio portrait of a woman in athletic garb shows her ready to participate in a pistol shooting competition. Note the scar on her face in detail 1.
Taken about 1900 by Pendleton photographer W. S. Bowman, this photo pre-dates the first Pendleton Roundup by ten years. While the Roundup featured women competitors, they usually wore "cowgirl" garb for that event. I don't know much about shooting competitions of this era, and would appreciate any details you're able to share.
