This 1917 photo shows a crew and their early GMC logging truck - one of the first GMC models to feature worm-drive (with a drive shaft) instead of chain drive.
An online version of this image states this is a model 71, built in 1914. However, a GMC history site says the model 71 with worm drive was introduced in 1916. In either case, we can date the photo to 1917 by the King County, Washington license plate on the truck, as seen in detail view 2.
Note the steam donkey in the background, which was used to pull logs to this site, as well as the well-dressed man sitting to the right (probably the boss).
