Though reproduced from a stereoview, this town view of Marshfield (now Coos Bay) has lots of detail.
Though reproduced from a stereoview, this town view of Marshfield (now Coos Bay) has lots of detail. Ernest A. Stauff, from nearby Arago, is the photographer, and it looks like he may have crawled out on a ledge to get this photograph.
At first appearing like an ordinary shot down main street, a closer look reveals that the fire crew had been called to deal with some type of incident a block or so away. Detail view 2 shows more clearly the hose wheel in the street, an extension ladder up the side of the building, and a fire fighter approaching the chimney.
