This was not the first boat on Crater Lake, but it was an important one, lowered to the lake by the Will G. Steel excursion in 1903.
This was not the first boat on Crater Lake, but it was an important one, lowered to the lake by the Will G. Steel excursion in 1903. It was a 16 foot skiff named the Start, and was used to ferry members of the excursion out to Wizard Island and across the lake to Cloud Cap.
Here we see eight members of the excursion sharing the boat.
