A four-wheeled enclosed carriage rests on a muddy Burnside Street. It appears to be a "coupe", with only forward facing seats and glass windows on the front corners.

The driver and passenger are bundled against Portland's winter chill. The coachman wears a long box coat, with appropriately shined buttons providing the ornamentation.
We are looking east on Burnside between 13th and 12th. The "new" Weinhard brewery buildings, planned for 1906, are yet to be built on the block beyond the large brick structure we see here.
