The building on the left is the Oregon City Woolen Mill; in the right foreground is the short-lived Portland Cement Company works, and behind it is the McLoughlin House.
Detail view 1 shows us some of the concerned citizens, while detail view 2 shows a horse-drawn fire engine. Note that some of the new electric lines are temporarily tied to one of the power poles.
