The sternwheeler Multnomah was the first boat built by the newly incorporated Willamette Steamboat Company in 1885.
The sternwheeler Multnomah was the first boat built by the newly incorporated Willamette Steamboat Company in 1885. Initially placed in service on the Willamette under the command of Captain W. H. Pope, she was soon transferred to the Cascade run on the Columbia River. In 1889 she was sold to parties in Olympia, and spent the rest of her time on Puget Sound.
Here we see her at the 4th Street Dock - the upper dock - in Oregon City.
