Several hundred thousand cans of salmon stand ready for shipment in the Warren cannery in Cathlamet, Washington. Built by Frank Warren in 1869, his cannery in Cathlamet was one of the first on the Columbia River, and until recently was one of the last ones standing on the lower Columbia.
Warren later opened another cannery in Warrendale, on the Oregon side.
