While the original boudoir card print locates this building at Fort Stevens in Oregon, a careful comparison with James G. Crawford's view shown in Related Photos (see detail view 2) shows this building to be at Fort Canby. Built on the inside of Long Beach Peninsula, the Fort was located to help guard the mouth of the Columbia River.
