All of the Graham family steamboat line gather below the bridge at Oregon City to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Oregon country - when Oregon formally became part of the United States in 1846.
These days we celebrate the anniversary of when Oregon became a state in 1859, and perhaps when Oregon became a territory in 1848, but a hundred-plus years ago there were still old-timers who remembered the day the treaty was signed with Great Britain, which brought to an end the joint occupancy agreement that had been in place since 1818.
