In 1915, photographer Fred Kiser sold his Portland studio to his partner Clarence L. Winter so he could concentrate on creating a series of promotional photos for the new Columbia River Highway. This photo and others on the Old Oregon website are examples from that project.
The bridge spans Youngs Creek, about four miles east of Crown Point. The stairway at right leads to a short paved trail upstream to Shepperd's Dell Falls.
