Several tribes lived at the reservation, including the Umatilla, Walla Walla and Cayuse. Much more can be learned at the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute, owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation, and located 4 miles east of Pendleton.
