Our original print is not actually a photograph - it is a high-quality lithograph created by Taber Prang Art Co. of Springfield, Massachusetts. Taber Prang prints probably hung on as many walls as prints by any company in 1900.
Partridge chose the same soft focus for his Madonna as did Benjamin Gifford in his "Indian Madonna" print shown in the Related Photos section below. Both photographers found success with this subject matter at the turn of the twentieth century.
