This hand-tinted view by Fred Kiser looks along the south shore of the lake, towards Mount Scott in the distance. The photographer is standing somewhere in what is now known as Rim Village, near Crater Lake Lodge.
Kiser created hundreds of these images, and employed a number of people to hand-color his prints of varying sizes. The original for this is a popular size, about 6 by 8 1/2 inches.
