This evocative study of a young woman was created by James Haran, an award-winning Portland amateur photographer. While we've placed the location in Portland, we're not sure where the photo was taken.
Some of Haran's winning photos were from as far away as his travels in Ireland. Known for his scenic shots as well as Native American portraits, Haran was an active member of the Oregon Camera Club from 1903 to 1909.
