Details

Irving Lincoln was a talented amateur photographer, known for his images of Northwest mountains. This view is taken from inside an ice cave in Coe Glacier, one of three glaciers on the north flank of Mt. Hood. It's a great photo from the perspective of the climber, and an answer to the question "Why do we climb mountains?"

-- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
