This 1880s view of Multnomah Falls shows the timber bow-string foot bridge before it was reinforced in 1891. Frank Abell chose to compose this particular view without including any people - allowing the viewer to experience a solitude that these days rarely exists at this site. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
