Looking North over Portland Towards Mt. St. Helens - 1890

We're looking up Broadway, with the Park Blocks on the left. Note the lack of electric lines. The bridge is the original Morrison Bridge, Portland's first bridge across the Willamette, a wooden swing-span structure completed just three years earlier in 1887. See detail view 1 for a closer look. Overviews of towns were popular photos in the 1800s, and still are today.
