This highly detailed view of Snake River Canyon is recreated from an original glass positive by George Weister, one of the best-known landscape photographers of his time. Twin Falls, the waterfalls, are several miles upstream from Twin Falls, the town.
You can see the drop in water level, but the actual falls are hidden behind the tree in this view. Today, there is only one waterfall at Twin Falls; the other was diverted in 1935 to produce electricity by the Idaho Power Company.
