Taken at a different location than most of our John Ford logging photographs, this view gives us a good look at the men and equipment involved in steam-powered logging over a century ago.
Taken at a different location than most of our John Ford logging photographs, this view gives us a good look at the men and equipment involved in steam-powered logging over a century ago. The man on the left is carrying water to the boiler, wearing a simple yoke to support two large cans.
Detail view 1 shows the main operator with his hand on a valve. A building is visible behind him, with large shingles covering both the walls and roof. Detail view 2 provides a closeup of some of the more refined fittings, giving evidence of the sharpness of the entire image.
