This rare early view shows the original wooden covered bridge that crossed the Clackamas River at Carver, reported to have been the longest covered bridge in Oregon at the time of its completion. Named after Horace Baker, who previously operated a slack-line ferry at this spot.
Today's concrete bridge at the same location is still referred to as the Baker Bridge. In detail view 1, you can see a sign above the entrance to the bridge. On an actual print, you can just make out its message: "$25 Fine for Driving or Riding Faster than a Walk on this Bridge".
