This sharp view of the Oregon City Woolen Mills is notable for two non-woolen mill details - the smaller initial Station B power plant, and the elaborate signage on Charman's store.
This sharp view of the Oregon City Woolen Mills is notable for two non-woolen mill details - the smaller initial Station B power plant, and the elaborate signage on Charman's store.
Detail view 1 shows the new Station B in its smaller size. Opened in 1895, it was enlarged to its current size a few years later.
Detail view 2 shows us the billboard quality of the Charman and Sons store on Main Street. I assume the proprietors were being paid for promoting their products - Golden Gate Baking Powder, Leak's Gloves and Ivory Soap.
