This view shows the U. S. Government Building on its island in Guild's Lake, with the "Bridge of Nations" leading out to it in the middle right. The Government Building complex covered twelve acres and housed exhibits from many branches, including the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Post Office, and the Department of Mines.
This is one of a number of photos we offer that are the work of amateur photographer Olaf Indahl. Most of his views were taken before the formal opening of the Exposition on June 1, 1905.
