This long view of Oregon City is unusual in that is shows the farms and buildings on the upper bluff, as well as downtown near the river.
If you look carefully, you'll see the photographer decided to do a little touch-up on Mount Hood and the hills to the right, to enhance the whiteness of the snow.
Closer in we can see many details of the suspension bridge and the mix of buildings in Oregon City at that time. This view is unusual in that it shows the farms and buildings on the upper bluff as well as downtown near the river.
Detail 1 shows the old courthouse, with evidence that the nine-foot high redwood Lady Justice on the roof was indeed originally painted white. The tall structure in detail view 2 is William Singer's flour mill, built in 1880. It burned in 1897.
