The crew of a fish wheel near the Dalles shows off their catch.
Though mobile, being mounted on a flat-bottom boat, many fish wheels like this one were more-or-less permanently moored at a productive site along the bank of the river.
You can see in detail 2 that two fish have just been caught up in the large baskets that make up the wheel.
