Father and Daughter, Astoria - 1880s

This father and daughter portrait was taken by Samuel B. Crow of Astoria, who operated a studio there from 1884 through 1893. Since the mother is not in the photo, it's reasonable to assume she was also not present in the family at this time. In any event, the father certainly appears concerned about something. We know it's a father and daughter as an inscription on the back reads "With good wishes from niece and brother". Note the coordinating pattern of the father's shirt and daughter's dress. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
