However, it is the car that is the focus of the photo. Studebaker had acquired the EMF company, named for its founders Everitt, Metzger and Flanders, in 1910. The EMF was popular for its day; in 1911 it was the second most popular car built in America, with 26,827 produced. In 1913 the EMF name was replaced by Studebaker.
