While it may not have been a great movie, Sonja Henie's film "Everything Happens at Night" provides a great caption for this image of Broadway at night in 1939.
While it may not have been a great movie, Sonja Henie's film "Everything Happens at Night" provides a great caption for this image of Broadway at night in 1939. We're looking north at the corner of Main, with the Paramount Theater in the left foreground.
Built as the Portland Publix Theater in 1928, it became the Paramount in 1930 when it switched from vaudeville to movies. Today it is the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
