Bill Grisdale, in the white shirt standing beside the tender, was the nephew of Sol Simpson, who founded Simpson Logging Company in 1890.
Bill Grisdale, in the white shirt standing beside the tender, was the nephew of Sol Simpson, who founded Simpson Logging Company in 1890. He became the foreman at Camp 1 in 1900 after working there for five years.
Bill lived to the age of 94, and in later years was sometimes called "The King of Douglas Fir Loggers".
