An early view of the Willamette Falls locks, opened January 1, 1873.
Opened January 1, 1873, the Willamette Falls Locks are the oldest continually operating multi-chambered canal and navigation lock system in the United States. This view is from a stereo card made by J. G. Crawford when his studio was in Harrisburg, which dates it to the mid-1870s, shortly after the locks were built.
