Details

A newsboy stops for refreshment at one of twenty water fountains given to the city of Portland by Simon Benson, shortly after they were installed. This humorous title was apparently short-lived, as today we know them as "Benson Bubblers". 

This image and another shown in Related Items below are recreated from hand-tinted magic lantern slides produced by George Weister. Both were likely from the same photo shoot, and it appears they may both be taken at the same corner.
